Q.

It's been a week since I started potty training my daughter. First few days she wetted her underwear with pee but after that she only does when I take her to washroom. But she has not even once passed stool in washroom. I make her wear diaper during afternoon when she is about to nap and at night. In these days she has either pooped in diaper or underwear and when conscious about her underwear, she didn't poop at all for 2 days straight. Today I had to make her wear diaper for half an hour at her usual time and she finally passed stool after 2 days. What should I do ? How should I make her comfortable in washroom ?

A. potty training can be started at the age of one and half year to 2 yrs age.for this you need to develop a conditioned reflex in the child by fixing a particular time regularly in which the child should be taken to the washroom and seated over the potty seat .do not force the child for it instead make it a playful activity for not to make the child repulsive about it.slowly the child will learn to indgodicate before thant time. you can counsel the child regarding the indications and gestures to be told for urination and for toilet slowly the baby will adapt it.
