POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. A body temperature of 98°F (36.7°C) is normal for a baby. It's common for babies to have a slight increase in temperature after vaccinations due to their immune system responding to the vaccine.
Here are a few things to consider post-vaccination:
1. **Slight Fever**: It's normal for babies to have a mild fever (up to 100.4°F or 38°C) after vaccinations.
2. **Comfort Measures**: Keep your baby comfortable with light clothing and ensure they stay hydrated. You can use a cool compress to help soothe the injection site if it's swollen or sore.
3. **Monitor Symptoms**: Watch for any signs of an adverse reaction, such as a high fever, prolonged crying, or a rash. Contact your healthcare provider if you have concerns or if the fever persists.
If your baby seems uncomfortable or the temperature exceeds 100.4°F (38°C), you might consider giving infant acetaminophen (Tylenol), but it's always best to consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage and advice.
