A. Breast milk in a baby's eyes is generally not harmful and is often considered beneficial. Many mothers use breast milk as a natural remedy for minor eye issues like: Potential Benefits: Helps Clear Eye Infections – Breast milk contains antibodies (like IgA) that may help fight mild eye infections such as sticky eyes or mild conjunctivitis. Soothes Eye Irritation – If the baby’s eyes are red or irritated, breast milk may provide relief. Moisturizes the Eyes – It can help keep the eyes clean and prevent dryness. When to Be Cautious: If the baby's eyes become red, swollen, or have persistent discharge, consult a doctor. If an eye infection is severe or worsening, breast milk alone may not be enough, and medical treatment might be needed. How to Use it Safely: Use fresh breast milk (not stored or old). Put a few drops in the affected eye with a clean spoon or cotton ball. Wipe away any excess gently.
