Is a double marker test or NIPT test mandatory for the pregnant ladies?

ExpertDr Laxmi Chavan-SawantAyurvedic Gynaecologist 1 Year agoA. double Marker test is mandatory and yes you should do it as it indicates much of the ref factors to the baby but NIPT should only be done if you have any previous history of abnormalities in the baby or repeated abortion history

This is my second pregnancy , when i went for the first screening test the pregnancy confirmation on the 3 rd month my doctor didnt say about double marker test.now i am 7 months pregnant. A few days ago I came to know this test is needed to take all the pregnant ladies. now what i have to do.

Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and as per my opinion and personal experience yea it is required and also better to consult with your treating gynaecologist in person as she knew the exact health condition of your pregnancy and if she has prescribed you then better to do it .
