Q.

Im introducing food for the first time to my child. Should I add salt/ sugar in the same?

A. don't add salt, sugar , and continue to breastfeed at regular intervals and there is no need to give anything else apart from mother milk or formula milk to baby till he complete 6months of age as it is complete food that takes care of hydration as well as nutrition. After 6 month you can gradually start weaning with homemade easy to digest food items like rice porridge ragi porridge mashed fruits apple Puree, mashed banana chiku etc. But whatever you are introducing should be introduced gradually with a small amount

A. hi as such no need of it. but yes you can add pinch of salt. I mean ,add salt in very very small quantity. avoid using sugar, instead of it use jeggary.
