A. Dark circles after childbirth are quite common, especially due to lack of sleep, hormonal changes, stress, and nutritional deficiencies. Since you’re a new mom of a one-month-old baby, your body is still recovering, and rest may be limited — which directly affects your skin. Here are some gentle and safe ways to reduce dark circles: Sleep whenever possible – Even short naps during the day can help. Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water and include fresh fruits and vegetables. Cold compress – Use a chilled spoon or cotton pads soaked in cold rose water on your eyes for 10 minutes. Use gentle eye creams – Choose creams with ingredients like cucumber, aloe vera, or vitamin E, safe for lactating moms. Iron-rich foods – Dark circles can be linked to low iron levels, so include leafy greens, dates, and lentils in your diet. Limit screen time – Reduce eye strain by avoiding too much phone or screen exposure. If they don’t improve after a few months, or if they worsen, consult a dermatologist. But rest assured — most post-pregnancy dark circles do fade over time as your body recovers.
