A. There are several factors that can cause changes in the smell of urine in females. In general, urine is made up of water and waste products from the body. However, certain foods, medications, and medical conditions can alter the odor of urine. For example, consuming foods like asparagus, garlic, or coffee can result in a strong odor in urine. Dehydration can also concentrate urine and give it a stronger smell. On the other hand, medical conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), diabetes, and liver or kidney issues can also lead to changes in the smell of urine. A sweet or fruity odor could indicate uncontrolled diabetes, while a foul or ammonia-like smell could be a sign of a UTI. Simple lifestyle changes, such as increasing water intake or dietary adjustments, may help alleviate any odor issues in urine. However, persistent or unusual smells should be discussed with a medical professional for proper evaluation and treatment.f
