I have a cold and mild cough.what medicine is preferable?? will that effect the child as I breastfeed

A. any medicine to be taken depending on the need and diagnosis moreover care must be exercised for a breastfeeding person. if there is no relief it is advisable to see the doctor for proper examination if there is need for proper investigations also both for diagnosis and treatment
