Komal BharaskarMom of a 5 m old girl1 week agoA. Hi dear, my niece had neonatal jaundice when she was born which was there for almost half a month, as she was born in the rainy season we couldn't give her direct sunlight. So the pediatrician suggested an at home setup of warm yellow light and to keep her under the lights from time to time. Now she is almost 1.5 months and has recovered. So would suggest you talk to your pediatrician and ask for some advice on the same.
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 8 yr 5 m old boy2 years agoA. there is always a chance of neonatal jaundice in small children within one or maximum 2 weeks of birth in which the skin as the eyes may appear yellow.
you have to meet the doctor for evaluation of the jaundice.
normal simple jaundice will go away on its own with only breastfeeding but if it is more your doctor will advise phototherapy.
the yellowness from the eyes may take around 1 to 1 and half month to totally go away.
can wait till 2 months
