Q.

I feel my baby is not consuming enough milk. I am a mother of 5 months old baby boy. How do I know if my baby is getting sufficient milk ? btw my baby is breastfed.

A. hi ..babies should double their birth weight by the time they are five months old and triple their birth weight by the time they are one year old. Babies generally gain 400 to 500 grams of weight per month after birth. If your baby is active, looks healthy, is free of allergies, passes 4-6 stools a day, and wets 6-8 diapers, it indicates that she is getting enough breast milk. If your breasts do not feel more tender and softer than they did before feeding your baby, it might be an indication that the baby is not able to latch on properly, causing him to not feed enough.
