Q.

I am a working mother. my boy is 2 years 3 month old. I don't know why he is very much attached with me that sometimes I become irritated. He is very very attention seeker and and don't play alone at all and neither with his toys . as a working mother I need some rest after office and in off days but he is just following me everywhere even in bathroom. why he is behaving like this?

A. Clinging to mom or dad is often a signal that the child is looking for more information. The toddler might be trying to keep it all together or feel frightened. The need to stay very close to you is likely to increase when your child is feeling sick or very tired. It's not uncommon for children to prefer one parent over the other. Sometimes this is due to a change in the parenting roles: a move, a new job, bedrest, separation. During these transitions, parents may shift who does bedtime, who gets breakfast, or who is in charge of daycare pickup.
