Q.

I am a father of a 2-week-old baby girl. Currently, she has difficulty feeding directly because of her mother's small nipples, so we are using a nipple shield. Will she continue to need the shield for feeding until she’s one year old, or is it possible for her to start feeding directly? We would prefer if she could feed without the shield or a spoon. What can we do to help her transition to direct feeding?

A. Maybe in the initial time the child learns to take time to feed because their lips are very small they’re feeding capacity is not good so the two options that mother has is definitely one you are saying is nipple shield because it gives a better gripping second could be that she can express her breastfeed with the help of a breast pump and she can give it with the medium of a bottle as the usual progress a child learns to suck better than nothing would be required a child can directly suck onto the breast
