Q.

I am a breastfeeding mother of a 6 month old baby boy. Recently I got tested covid positive. I am recovering but have cough. Please suggest any cough syrup( cough suppressing type) which is safe for the baby and won't reduce breast milk. No expectorants please. Nobody is suggesting cough syrup to me as I am breastfeeding but I cannot sleep properly because of this dry cough.

A. Hello dear parent! Would suggest you to take a teaspoon of honey mixed with a pinch of black pepper powder. It worked for me a couple of weeks back. Try steam inhalation twice or thrice a day. Take turmeric milk for a couple of nights. Eat a well balanced healthy diet and keep yourself hydrated all through day while breastfeeding your baby.
