A. A 6-12 month old baby needs two to eight ounces of water per day on top of the water they get from breast milk/formula. Taking sips from their cups throughout the day will usually get them the water they need.Once solids are added to the mix, the number of formula ounces should be scaled back a bit. At this stage your baby may be drinking up to 6 to 8 ounces of formula per feeding every four to six hours — but limit the total intake to no more than 32 to 36 ounces per 24-hour period.
