Q.

How much risk is there in delivery at 36th week of pregnancy with posterior placenta showing grade 3 maturity and is not low lying??

A. It is ideal that you at least wait for 37 completed weeks if you are in a hurry and if it is going to be an elective C-section surgery, then wait for at least 38 completed weeks because that is the safest time for the baby to deliver. If delivered early around 36 weeks or before, then there is a chance that Baby might have breathing difficulties. In case of emergencies let the doctor decide what to do.

A. Thank you so much Doctor. By tomorrow, i.e., 14.07.2023, my 38th week will be completed. Due to high BP and age (41 yrs.) my doctor has told not to take any chance and go for C-section (if required) in case no contractions or induced pains. What should I do??
