A. If your 3-year, 4-month-old daughter has been suffering from congestion for several days, here are some steps you can take to help relieve her symptoms: Home Remedies to Relieve Congestion: Steam Inhalation – Let her inhale steam from a bowl of warm water or use a humidifier in her room to loosen mucus. Saline Nasal Drops – Use saline drops to clear nasal congestion, followed by gentle suctioning with a nasal aspirator. Warm Fluids – Give her warm soups, herbal teas (like ginger-honey water), or warm water with honey (if over 1 year old). Elevate Her Head While Sleeping – Prop her up slightly with a pillow to reduce mucus buildup. Massage with Warm Oil – Gently rub her chest, back, and feet with warm mustard oil infused with garlic to ease congestion. Encourage Hydration – Keep her well-hydrated with lukewarm water, fresh fruit juices, and soups. When to See a Doctor: Fever above 100.4°F (38°C) Difficulty breathing or wheezing Coughing for more than 10 days Chest pain or rapid breathing Thick green/yellow mucus for several days
