Paramjeet KaurMom of a 4 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. Hi there, my baby is 9 months old and also has achondroplasia.. I understand its little difficult to accept it, happened the same with me as well.. the days went only by cries and lots of google search and hoping for a false statement from the docs.. but my baby is amazing and adorable just like a normal baby.. so is urs.. I am sure you are giving him utmost love that he/she deserves.. trust me the more ur baby will grow the more you will love him..
as far as the treatment goes, there's no cure of this i am the doctors have told you already. If they are suggesting growth hormone therapy then it is of no use it wont help.. and keep a track of the baby's milestones.. my baby rolled over at 4 months and sat without support in 9 months hope he walks sooner.. Achondroplasia is just a bone disorder.. their stature will be short otherwise they are as normal as other kids... I have accepted my baby's condition.. I love him more than anything else in my life.. and in future any any cure comes I will definitely give it to him... Just to keep your hopes up search for VOSORITIDE hasn't come in India yet but the treatment will only given when the baby is 2 years
