Anju MathaiGuardian of a 1 yr 9 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hi, I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy and was taking medicine for same once a day. I followed up the sugar level for 1-2 months after delivery and it was normal. Now it's being 4.5 months and when I checked sugar level( fasting) it's showing 122. Is it fine to breast feed my child, does it affect his sugar level through breast milk?

Because of the hormonal changes post delivery there may be laxity of the muscles and fat content increase.
You should not worry just do some calorie restriction specially for sugar and fat which should be avoided in excess and do regular exercise for muscle strengthejgning which should be gradugally increased . Also take plenty of liquids and give proper breastfeeding to the baby which will also be beneficial in management of the weight .
