hi there, my 6 mnth ol baby boy is having cough for almost 2 mnths like it's on and off. but from two weeks iits gone worst . I had to admit him in hospital has he was having problem in breathing. he has taken many antibiotic orally and through iv. but still his cough is not gone. what should I do, should I visit a pediatric palmonologist Or try home remedies as he have taken many antibiotics. please suggest.

A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its stsill not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizer. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollensd) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.
