A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizerd. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet foodd also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

A. For a 2-year-old experiencing frequent cough, it's important to choose a cough remedy that is suitable for young children and consult with a pediatrician for proper guidance. Here are some general considerations and options: 1. **Honey**: Honey is a natural cough suppressant and can be given to children over 1 year old. You can give a small amount (half a teaspoon to one teaspoon) as needed. Note: Do not give honey to infants under 1 year due to the risk of infant botulism. 2. **Saline Nasal Drops**: If the cough is due to nasal congestion or post-nasal drip, saline nasal drops can help clear nasal passages and reduce coughing. 3. **Herbal Remedies**: Some herbal cough syrups or drops designed for children may contain ingredients like ivy leaf extract or marshmallow root, which can help soothe coughs. Always check with your pediatrician before giving herbal remedies to young children. 4. **Over-the-Counter Medications**: There are over-the-counter cough syrups or drops specifically formulated for children. These may contain ingredients like dextromethorphan or guaifenesin. However, use these only as directed by your pediatrician, as they can have side effects and may not be suitable for all children. 5. **Consult Your Pediatrician**: It's crucial to consult your pediatrician before giving any oral drops or medications to your child, especially if the cough persists or is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, difficulty breathing, or prolonged duration. Your pediatrician can recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your child's specific symptoms and medical history. They can also provide guidance on dosage and ensure that the treatment is safe and effective for your child's age and condition.
