Q.

Hi Sir/Mam..My son is 3 yrs 9 months old and he is having frequent cold and cough… every time whenever I visit doctor…she prescribes antibiotic to cure his cough… can you please suggest if it is ok to give antibiotics so frequently… also please suggest how to cure his cough n cold…

A. it appears to be allergic cough/cold. they can be associated with temperature variations around the body (hot to cold or cold to hot environmental changes) which the body cannot sustain leading to cough usually at evening /night and morning. requires examination and start antdi allergic medicines. meet dr and prevent such temperature variations. there is a possibility of starting anti allergic medicines for at least one month and the doctor will decide if the child needds inhaler therapy or nebulization. when allergies are not controlled they can lead to intermittent respiratory infections which needs other medicine
