Hi my son 3 yrs for him.He was havung fever Given the syrup but its not got decreases fvr...what i need to do

Author of questionMom of a 5 yr 9 m old boy3 years agoA. already given the paracetamol paediatric oral suspension 250 mg Night at 10:30pm,But again he was unable to sleep High Tempeture.May i give again now the same syrup

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipdryretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpxful .
Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
