Q.
Hi, my kid is passing motion little thick and yellow and is crying to pass motion. he's continuously trying to pass motion and crying finally he is making after 3 trials. what can I do to soften his stool? he is having formula milk of about 60ml daily. could that be a reason for hard stool?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy1 Year agoA. normally hardness of the stool is not seen when you are giving only breastfeeding to the child.
it is advisable to continue only breastfeeding and nothing else till completion of 6 months of age.
if still the hard stool continues you have to visit the doctor to find the cause.
but if you are giving formula milk then there is a possibilityd that the milk is not properly digested by the child and you will have to change the brand of formula milk.
also do notd give any food to the child except milk at this age.
