Q.

Hi my baby is 4weeks old. She gives hunger cues even after 2to3 hrs of continuous feeding. Is this normal? Am so scared of introducing formula milk initially but for the past 3days when I give her formula milk she drinks approx 60ml to 80ml and sleeping for long time. Give me a suggestion please.. What should I do now? Shall I stop giving formula milk and feed continuously 2to 3 hrs if she gives hunger sign. Am really getting depressed whether it is abnormal.

A. Hi, It is very ohk to give baby formula milk. All the mothers who's Brestfeed is not sufficient uses formula milk. It is very normal.Formula milk is the alternative of breastfeed. They fullfill the nutritional requirements of baby. Also, Milk secretion increases based on demand. So more and more your baby tries to feed your milk supply will increase. Frequent pumping also helps in increasing milk. Have garlic, garlic milk Fenugreek seeds jeera water nuts oats green leafy vegetables ridge gourd bottle gourd pulses pumpkin dairy products etc in your daily diet. Also check with your gynecologist and get some supplements like galact garnaules prescribed. It helps in increasing breast milk
