Q.
Hi..My baby is 2months old.she is taking breastfeed as well as formula milk.I had given formula milk using spoon until 1 and half month..but now a days she is not having in spoon..so I am giving in bottle.Is it okay to feed in bottle?Because my friend said that baby will not have breastmilk if they started having in bottle.till now no issue in that.I am giving only once in bottle per day.is it okay to feed in bottle?

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. dear mum, it is better to avoid bottle feeding. Bottle is risky because in spite of good cleaning bottle can cause many infections in the baby. Due to easy availability of milk a baby gets habituated to bottle-feeding & subsequently refuses to feed at the breast. Bottle can also cause problems with teeth & can have deleterious effect on mother-infant bonding.
