Q.

Hi, my baby girl is 17 months old, she doesn't walk by herself and holds my hand to roam around in the house. she can walk by support and I noticed that she takes a few steps without holding too but stops whenever she sees anyone around and comes on her knees to hold the hands for walking. this is hampering my routine and I am also worried because she still doesn't walk by herself. please suggest ways to how can I make her comfortable on walking by herself!

A. a baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will stand with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking independently and sometimes it may take even longer but in no case any Walker should be avoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking becaubhse the child lacks confidence of walking independently.
