Q.

Hi, my 3 year old son had a close contact with a TB patient. Doc conducted many tests for him - Mantoux test, blood tests and chest xrays all look normal for him. But even then the pediatrician advised to start chemo prophylaxis for 6 months - medication isocaldin retort syrup. Is this actually needed when he’s negative for all TB related tests. I’m concerned due to this strong medications and duration of treatment when the results are negative for TB. Please advise.
