Q.

Hi, My 18 months old twin sons are not responding to their names. But they respond to their favourite rhyme. Can this be a sign of ASD ?? Is it because they have multiple pet names and are confused ?? Or is it because they are exposed to 3 different languages ?? I am really worried. They don't even wave good-bye. They only babble at times but won't repeat when I ask them to do so.

A. Hi, if the babies are responding to their pet names then fine. But try to call with one name either a pet name or their names. Try with flash cards and hard storybooks and practical things like teaching about vegetables or fruits when feeding them. Talk to them more. Kids will learn fast and when they touch it and feel it and while playing especially. So try to do activities.
