Hi mam .This question is for my 2.5 years old boy..He went to our neighbour house and when he came back there were scratches on his palms and leg..There is a cat in our neighbour house..We are not sure the cat scratched him or not..But the pediatrician gave him shots of rabies vaccine...I wanted to know are these vaccine safe even if there is uncertainty of the scratches

A. Yes of course this is very safe and if you’re not sure about it then why didn’t you talk to your neighbours in the first place to know what has happened you are still actually working on assumptions but at the end of the day there is a scratch which has a doubt that it can be given by an animal then it is better to get the rabies shot done and the doctors can actually deter mine what is the reason behind a scratch which is why they have advised you with the same
