Q.

hi mam my baby is 1 month 12 days, she is a preterm baby & born after 8 months 1 week .At the time of birth her weight is approx 1.95 kg & presently weighs 2.55 kg .what can we do to increase her weight. From breastfeeding she didn't receive full milk & we are using similac neosure preterm milk powder, should we continue with it or move to a different quality of milk or another stage of the same milk.

A. hi dear mum since baby is premature so follow the growth curve with doctor any change in formula only after consulting with doctor have frequent skin to skin contact, at one time feed from only one breast so that baby receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain ensure that baby latches properly during breastfeeding.
