Q.

Hi mam.. my baby Happy is 14 months old whose teeth enamel gets ruptured, seems like dental flurosis.. outer white layer gets breaking and a yellow layer is found.. she is not taking fluoride in any form.. kindly tell if this is an issue to be worried for.. should I take her for a dental checkup? kindly reply..

A. Most cases of fluorosis are mild and do not need treatment. In more severe cases, whitening of the teeth, veneers, or other cosmetic dentistry techniques can be used to correct permanent discoloration. Once a child reaches the age of 8, they are no longer at risk for developing fluorosis.
