A. It's common for babies to develop walking skills at their own pace, but there are ways you can support and encourage your child in this process: 1. **Encourage Standing**: Let your baby practice standing while holding onto furniture or a sturdy support. Gradually increase the amount of time he spends standing. 2. **Practice Cruising**: Encourage cruising (walking while holding onto furniture) to build confidence and strength. 3. **Provide Safe Space**: Create a safe and comfortable space for him to practice walking. Ensure the area is free of sharp objects and has a soft surface to prevent injuries from falls. 4. **Use Push Toys**: Toys that your baby can push while walking can help him practice balance and coordination. 5. **Positive Reinforcement**: Encourage and praise him when he attempts to walk, even if he only takes a few steps. 6. **Hold Hands**: Walk with him while holding his hands to help him gain confidence in his ability to walk. 7. **Footwear**: Ensure that he is wearing supportive shoes or walking barefoot on safe surfaces to help with balance. 8. **Physical Therapy**: If your baby is still hesitant or unable to walk without support after trying these methods, consult a pediatrician. They might refer you to a physical therapist who specializes in child development. It's important to be patient and supportive as he learns to walk. If you have concerns about his development or if there are other developmental delays, seeking professional advice is always a good idea.
