Q.

Hi, i just delivered baby through c section as the baby had pooped in amniotic fluid and doctor said baby has swallowed little poop and has got little infection. baby is in NICU since 3 days and doctor says baby is breathing at 73 and needs some more time to get breathing level to normal..2nd day in NICU they said baby came to 60 breathing level and we shall check without oxygen on 3rd day.. today is 4th day and they said breathing level is back to 76 when oxygen was removed so they said he needs more time to get back to normal.. we are completely traumatized hearing this.. not sure whats happening there.. could some doctor help us understand this situation?

A. Hello, your baby boy is newborn just 4 days old and he was asphyxiated in utero so muconium was passed so he may need NICU admission and proper antibiotic injection for 5/7 days and supportive treatment like oxygen and nutrition etc
