A. hi dear A baby's swollen eye or eyes can be caused by something temporary and harmless, such as crying or rubbing. But allergies, a blocked tear duct, an insect bite, a sty, a chalazion, or blepharitis can also cause inflammation or swelling. For these conditions, a cool compress is often helpful.
