Hi Dr. I am mother of 3months old baby... My query is regarding covishield vaccination... Being a lactating woman am I eligible for vaccination. Is it safe?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Covid vaccination like covishield/ covaxin in the breastfeeding mothers can be given very safely according to the latest recommendation which is approved now .
minor complications like fever lethargy pain at injection site can be handled safely by taking paracetamol .
only pregnant women and children are not included in this list.
mothers can feed their child as soon as required after the vaccination very safely with no side effezects in the child.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 years agoA. Yes you can get vaccinated, Breastfeeding is also deemed completely safe post-Covid vaccination as it has not been observed to interfere with antibody production.
