Hi dr , I am expecting the answer from doctor . I have weaned of my 1.5 yrs old kid from breastfeeding but I am having pain in breast due to engorgement . do the weaned off mothers need to take any medication to stop secretion or prolactane levels

Of course you can wait for the doctor to be available but if you have quit randomly like overnight then this kind of problem can happen but if you could quit gradually by slowing down your breastfeeding from four times to 3 times and gradually 2 to 1 and then you quit so that time this does not happen right now you can do massage and warm compress which will help and you can check with your doctor if you’re having so much pain they can also help you with the medicine to dry up your breastfeeding
