Q.

hi doctor.. my baby birth weight 2.6, first my breast milk not sufficient for baby.. so doctor suggested to feed formula milk with breast milk.. she became 3 kg.. now my breast milk good compare to before so doctor told only feed breast milk.. i started only breast milk .. after 10 days baby not gain the weight .. now also baby 3kg.. again should i feed formula milk?? pls suggest me.. she doing urine daily 8 to 10 times, is it my breast milk sufficient??

A. in first six months the minimum weight gain should be 500 mg per month and it can go up to 1 kg per month also. the urine output should be more than 6 to 7 times per day. the child should sleep after taking feeding. meet the doctor for weight assessment. if the above criteria is achieved then the child is having adequate milk intake. if the growth of the child is proper there is no need to worry about tzhe sleeping pattern/ feeding as well as the stool frequency of the child if adequate weight gain then no need to give formula milk
