Hi doc ijust measured the temperature of my 15 days old newborn it was reported as 98.7 kindly confirm this is fever if yes how to treat

A. 99°F is actually fever below that it is considered a normal body temperature but since your child would be more warm right now because of the temperature is about 98.7 wait do not give any medicine and temperature is going to reduce automatically just to be on the safer side I would recommend you to do cold sponge that is going to be much helpful for you
