Q.

hi doc i have noticed that whenever i give iron drops to my kids she had loose motions .. my kid is 21 months old . doc advised 4 drops of iron per day to her a month back bcoa she use to put everything in her mouth . iron can be the reason of loose motions

A. Are you sure it is four drops your child is approximately 16 to 18 months old and this age the medicine is about 1.5 ML so there could be a possibility that your child is not having diarrhoea because of iron supplement because iron supplement can cause of constipation but not diarrhoea

Q. Hi, my baby is 9 month old. Doc suggested to give Tonoferon drops & Homemade Nuts mix powder (kaju, badam, pista, walnut etc) to baby. She has now green + black loose motions (but not diarrhoea type, I understand black poop is because of iron drops). Does tonoferon iron drops cause loose motions in babies or is it the nut mix powder ? Pls advice.
