hi can I give levocitrizine to my 6 years old baby for cold and cough

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicrine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is thereg paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Its He is not for kids as far as I know so you should not be giving any medicine to the child which is not for kids because such medicines can have side-effects in the longer run so it’s better that you consult your doctor then advise you with the best anti allergy to go for as of now
