Q.

Hi.. After delivery my periods was normal for 10 months. After that I started bleeding continuously. So I consulted my gynecologist. She prescribed me contraceptive tablets for 21 days. After that I got my periods. She asked me to take 3 sets of that tablet. My biggest question is can we breastfeed while taking those contraceptive tablets. Am getting mixed suggestions. I have one yr old daughter.

A. Usually when you’re breast-feeding you will be given progesterone only pills or mini pills. Did you inform your doctor that you were breast-feeding? Better ask your doctor if the medications that were given for mini pills or notWrite Your Answer Here

A. Hello dear parent! Better to consult your doctor again for advice on the safety of medication while breastfeeding your baby. Clarify all your concerns and follow your doctor’s advice diligently. Eat a well balanced healthy diet and keep yourself hydrated all through the day. Good luck and take care.
