Hey I am 37 weeks pregnant. My s section has been planned for 28th of March. I have already done all the blood tests which are required. Just want to ask whether VDRL is for HIV or something else. I already have done VDRL test and it was negative. Kindly let me know what test is done for HIV.

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist2 years agoA. For HIV they can do a card test or they can do a serum blood test. Otherwise the VDRL is not done for checking HIV, but rather to check syphilis
