A. Babies start holding their heads up slowly as they grow. Their muscle strength improves gradually, month by month. Its normal upto six months for complete head control. Practicing tummy time several times a day (for at least 3 to 5 minutes at a time) will help your baby gain the head control.

A. Your baby will probably be able to lift her head when she's about a month old, and hold it up when placed in a sitting position at around 4 months. Her neck muscles and head control should be strong and steady by 6 months.
