Hello sir My daughter is 5 month old, weight is 5.5 kg. As per doctor or standard weight should be above 7 kg. Please give me ideas to how to increase weight of my daughter.

A. Dear parent, baby’s weight at 5 months would depend on the birth weight. If your baby doubles the birth weight by 6 months or earlier, then weight gain has been normal. For healthy weight gain, exclusively breastfeed your baby till 6 months complete. At one episode of breast feeding feed from only one breast so that baby receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain.
