Read with your child.Talk about the ordinary things you do each day – for example, 'I'm hanging these clothes to dry outside because it's a nice day'.Respond to and talk about your child's interests. ...Recite nursery rhymes and sing songs.If your child has a speech delay, it doesn't always mean something is wrong. You may simply have a late bloomer who'll be talking your ear off in no time. A speech delay can also be due to hearing loss or underlying neurological or developmental disorders.The more sounds are practised the clearer they will be in speech. Exaggerate both the sound and your facial expression to give a clear model for your child to copy. But remember to make the sounds not the letter. For example, 'mmm' not 'em'.delayed expressive or receptive language, autism spectrum disorder, hearing loss, and global developmental delay.
