Q.

Hello, My son is 15months old and he has a habit of sucking his thumb. I tried everything to stop him from doing it. But nothing worked on him. I have come across a product called docura no bite and reviews says it is very effective. But Iam bit scared about any chemicals and if its safe for babies. Can anyone suggest me on this product.

A. Hello mam, please don't give any chemical products to babies. Babies are very sensitive so please avoid.

A. Hello mam, thumb sucking is common habit of babies and toddlers. It will go away when the started school or by the age of 4. It is more common not only in your child. Thumb sucking habit in babies is to soothe themselves. It is not only the reason, it may be due to teething, provide a good teether. so your baby can soothe their new gums. Don't scold or force your baby to stop immediately. Divert them gently with other toys and play with them. Gradually they will forget this habit soon. Happy mother's day and happy parenting!

A. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go . In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of inkksecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child . In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .
