Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. cough and cold may be infective or allergic in cause.give steam to relieve nasal congestion which is of great help and nasoclear drops can also be used in nose multiple times. can also give sinarest drops . cough syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough and only under the guidance of your pediatrician .self medication is not recommended. if the cough is productive give asthakind-ls. Usually due to the symptoms if the child is not showing interest in having food, give only simple home-made preparations as required, can give certain fruits like apple, papaya etc. ,child will start to eat as symptoms get resolved. Due to seasonal changes or due to repeated exposure to the infective agent if the child is catching cold and cough repeatedly you need to develop good immunity by giving proper balanced !fcdiet and multi -vitamin supplements under medical guidance.
