HomeQuestions & AnswersHello.. My baby boy is 4month old (33 week 5days premature). He tracks people and toys moving around. He looks at our faces and smiles as a reaction now; can this be considered as Eye contact as he looks at our faces all features (including eyes) but does not concentrate on Eyes.
He has also not developed turning his head to sound.
Can you please suggest.

A. yes
compared to their 1st month, when they only focus on objects about a foot away, babies three or four months of age have better color perception and can start to make out other objects besides faces, like toys.
by 4 months, they should also start to show more conscious behavior like reaching for their toys and smiling deliberately at you when you make eye contact.
babies might show a reflexive smile, grinning for no apparent reason, from birth, but between 4 weeks to 4 months, they'll develop a social smile, either responding to another person or trying to get someone else to smile at them. y

A. The child is premature but the child is teaching milestones and ell enough so it’s going good and also this is a good development that your child is showing so I’d say u need not worry about it as all well is going well with your child
