Q.

Hello, I have just stopped breastfeeding last month. Its day 33 of my cycle still haven't got my periods. I am not pregnant. does stopping breastfeeding caused my periods to delay?

A. you can have variations in the period cycle when you are breastfeeding so don't worry just wait for few cycles and even if they are not normally coming then check with your doctor

A. Irregular periods is common after delivery specially when u r breastfeeding. Some may get it as early as two months and some don't get it even after a year. While few others get it one month and suddenly no periods for couple of months or Some may get too early every month before completing one month with more than usual flow or at times only spotting . And it is always good to use contraceptive methods after delivery even if u have irregular or no periods. But if u have already weaned breastfeeding, your periods should be having normal cycle after few months. Wait for few days and see if still don't get periods consult with your gynecologist once.
