Q.

Hello I have been unaware of being diabetic and i have been breastfeeding my daughter since birth..she's 21 months old..now that I got my blood tests done,my sugar levels are really up..will that affect my baby?will she too have sugar spikes..does sugar transmit from mother to the baby..will she be diabetic too..should I stop feeding her immediately after knowing this

A. Hello my dear parent! No, there are no chances of child getting a diabetic for breast milk. When through genetic structures, there are chances there are no lifestyle changes. Speak to your doctor for further guidance in this matter.
